About Us

our greatest joy

As a church, our greatest joy is to gather together and worship the resurrected Christ.

Sundays

sunday school @ 9am
Worship @ 10am

On a Sunday morning, there are usually about 300 people in the building at Seaford Baptist Church. We are a multi-generational church that just about anyone would feel comfortable attending. The dress trends toward business-casual, but you will find everything from jeans to suits.

We gather at 9am on Sundays for 45 minutes of Sunday School, in which we learn about God's Word and its application to all areas of life. When Sunday School ends, we head to our Worship Center for our Sunday morning service.

Our Sunday morning service begins at 10am and lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes. Our worship music is a blend of new and old and our sermons are taught with an expository approach.

Child-care is available for nursery through 5th grade on most Sundays.

Wednesdays

Midweek Dinner @ 5:30pm
Midweek Worship and Activities @ 6:30pm

On a Wednesday night, there are usually about 100 people in the building at Seaford Baptist Church. Once again, the attendees come from all generations. The dress is casual.

We gather at 5:30pm for a meal and if it is your first time eating with us, dinner will be free.

At 6:30pm, Midweek activities begin. We break up by age groups and have discipleship for the entire family, including an intimate worship service for adults.

We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

— Ephesians 2:10

Our Mission

To walk in the good works God has prepared for us.

Our Identity

We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus.

Our Core Values

How We Live Out Our Mission and Identity

  • Faithful Teaching explains what the Bible means with what the Bible says. As we are teaching children, students and adults in small group settings and in our worship gatherings, we want the teachers to apply what the passage is truly saying. Ephesians 4:11-12 And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ… 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

  • Gospel Touchpoints are opportunities to put our neighbors in touch with the Gospel of Jesus.  The Gospel is the power of God to save. The Gospel changes lives and brings new life. We want to create environments in which people can hear the Gospel and be around people who have had their lives changed by the Gospel.  Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” Romans 10:14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

  • Biblical Community recognizes that the church is not a building, but a people. God has called His church out of the world and into community with one another. We are a church that finds joy in following Jesus together.  1 Corinthians 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. Acts 2:44-47 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

  • Acts 1:8 Missions means that we join in with God on His plan to make disciples in all nations. The goal of our commitment to mission work is that all peoples would know the God who has changed our lives. Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Examples of Acts 1:8 Missions include supporting the Gospel-sharing mission agencies in our area, partnering with church plants in Washington DC, supporting the International Mission Board, North American Mission Board, our career missionaries and sending teams to Uganda and El Salvador.

  • Expectant Prayer is a hallmark of people who trust God each and every day. We pray to Him boldly because conversation with God goes hand-in-hand with intimacy with God and because we believe He will act for the good of His people. 1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
